"The Lock That Learned to Travel"
"In 1920, a young Werner discovered steel had a memory. In 2024, his great-grandson proves memories have no passport."
Section 1: The Rhine Beginning
Werner's Fingers (1920-1950)
In the shadow of Neuwied's smokestacks, where the Rhine makes its ancient turn, Werner developed what colleagues called "impossible hands." While others needed calipers, Werner's fingertips could detect 0.1mm variations – the width of a human hair.
But Werner saw beyond precision. Each lock, he believed, carried the installer's trust, the homeowner's sleep, a child's first key. "Steel remembers everything," he'd say, "especially promises."
